As part of the Science Festival, the Téléphérique du Salève transforms into a unique learning playground where technology, science and creativity come together. In partnership with Addictlab Academy, children aged 8 to 12 are invited to take part in a series of immersive workshops designed to explore the cable car from a completely new perspective.
Through hands-on activities, participants will discover how the Téléphérique du Salève works while learning the fundamentals of coding, robotics and digital design. By observing, building, programming and experimenting, they will develop their creativity, logical thinking and teamwork skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Each workshop offers a different challenge, encouraging children to learn through exploration and play.
Saturday, October 3 – Build Your Own Cable Car with LEGO® SPIKE Prime
How does a cable car move up and down the mountain? What mechanisms make it work?
After exploring how the Téléphérique du Salève operates, participants will design and build their own motorised model using LEGO® SPIKE Prime. By combining gears, motors and simple programming, they will bring their creations to life while discovering the engineering principles behind a real cable car.
A fun introduction to robotics, engineering and problem-solving.

Sunday, October 4 – Create Your Own Video Game with Scratch
What if the Téléphérique du Salève became the star of your very own video game?
Using Scratch, children will create an interactive animation inspired by the cable car. They’ll imagine how the cabins move, design their own scenarios and translate their ideas into code that the computer can understand.
A creative workshop introducing the fundamentals of programming while encouraging logical thinking and creativity.

Saturday, October 10 – Rebuild the Téléphérique in Minecraft
Minecraft becomes a unique tool for exploring architecture and digital creativity.
By carefully observing the Téléphérique du Salève, participants will recreate this iconic landmark block by block inside the Minecraft world. Along the way, they’ll learn how to transform a real building into a digital model while developing observation skills, creativity and spatial awareness.
An engaging workshop combining architecture, design and gaming.
