the visit
Luane from the Maison du Salève offers a tour “The Fabulous History of the Cable Car” This tour immerses visitors in the history of the Salève cable car, a true symbol of innovation in the 1930s. Through a fun and interactive approach, visitors discover the technical and architectural feat that made its creation possible. First, the idea of connecting the mountain to the city, then the engineering challenges addressed by Maurice Braillard and André Rebuffel. This tour combines observations, historical anecdotes, games, and riddles for an enriching experience. The approach is less technical than that offered by the CAUE (French Association for the Conservation of Nature).
