Cable Car Major Maintenance: What You Need to Know

Every five years, the Salève cable car must pause operations to undergo a full inspection of its infrastructure. This mandatory procedure is essential to ensure your safety and maintain the long-term reliability of the cable car.

Why is this closure necessary?

Just like a car undergoing a safety inspection, the cable car must also be thoroughly checked. During this period:

  • The cables, brakes, and mechanical components are inspected,
  • Each key element is tested and refurbished if necessary,
  • Specialized experts thoroughly examine the entire system.

A Commitment to Your Safety

📅 The Salève Cable Car will closed to the public, from November 3, 2025, until the end of January 2026.

This pause allows us to work safely and access areas that are normally unreachable while the cable car is in operation.

This major inspection is more than routine maintenance: it ensures that every ride is carried out under the best conditions, with the highest level of safety.

At the end of this process, the cable car will be ready to welcome you for a new season, with fully inspected, improved, and more efficient facilities.

We look forward to welcoming you again very soon to continue sharing unforgettable moments at the top.

Thank you for your understanding and your trust.
