The new cable in 2023

Built in 1932 by the architect Maurice Braillard, the building as it exists today is only symbol and silhouette. This architecture deserved to rediscover a vocation which focuses on these architectural, spatial, aesthetic and landscape qualities.

Every year, the cable car attracts more visitors: 107,000 boardings in 2007, 300,000 boardings in 2018. The stations  allow no longer to live up to this craze. However, the technical installations have been already renovated. The electrical system and cables were changed in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

91 after its launch, the cable car enters a new era!

In 2023, the Salève cable car will reveal its new face: rehabilitated and redesigned departure and arrival stations, new leisure and catering offers, new reception areas, etc. The opportunity to enhance this landmark equipment of the territory.

The Contracting Authority:
The project is launched by the GLCT Téléphérique du Salève, owner of the equipment, including the canton of Geneva, Annemasse Agglo and the municipality of Monnetier-Mornex. Its objective is to organize the operation of the cable car and the restaurant at the arrival station.

It is the “RATP group – TPG – COMAG ” , operator of the cable car since 2013, which will organize the operation and development of the site’s new activities.
